New Brocock Compatto Mk 2 And Bantam Mk 2 Semi-Bullpup PCP Air Rifles
The Brocock Compatto Mk 2 is the latest version of the UK manufacturer’s compact PCP air rifle. This and the Mk 2 version of the lightweight buddy-bottle Bantam models will be on show at the 2018 SHOT Show opening today in in Las Vegas. In addition, both lines will be complemented with new Sniper HR variants that incorporate air-regulated shot release.
Visually distinguishable by a redesigned breech and inclusion of a single-shot loading tray option, the Bantam and Compatto Mk 2 models feature an array of performance-enhancing updates, says the manufacturer.
The HR suffix of the newly-added Sniper models denotes the Huma Regulator incorporated into the action. Expressly for shooters who demand the ultimate output from a fast-handling, compact and lightweight rifle, specialist pneumatic engineers, Huma, worked closely with Brocock to maximize performance from the rifles’ self-regulating valve systems.
Compared to the standard Bantam and Compatto Mk 2 configurations, the Sniper HR versions offer more shots per fill-up and an even better velocity consistency – or ‘sweet spot’ – that spans the entire usable air charge.
Brocock tells HAM that the Mk 2 and Sniper HR models retain the attributes that made the original Compatto and Bantam such a success. These include the auto-loading side-bolt action, 11mm reach-forward scope rail, 10-shot magazine, on-the-fly power switch, Lothar Walther barrel and two-stage adjustable trigger with in-guard safety.
Initially available with a black synthetic and ‘soft touch’ ambidextrous thumbhole stocks, and a choice of 400 or 500cc air reservoirs (including a 480cc carbon-fibre option on the Bantams), the rifles are available in .177, .22 and .25, with power outputs from sub-12 to 28 Ft/Lbs. US pricing has yet to be established.
Brocock air rifles are available in the USA from Airguns of Arizona.
