Registration for 2017/18 CMP 3P Air Rifle Postal Championship Opens in November.

The Civilian Marksmanship Program’s 2017/18 CMP 3P Air Rifle Postal Championship will officially open for registration on Nov. 1, 2017. Any junior air gun marksman involved in 4-H, Scouts, American Legion, club or JROTC air rifle programs are eligible to enter.

This competition is designed for those interested in testing their three-position competition skills against some of the top juniors in the country, while firing from the convenience of their home ranges.

Registered athletes for the 2017/18 CMP 3P Air Rifle Postal Championship will receive CMP competition targets by mail to record shots upon at each of the three positions: prone, standing and kneeling. Targets are then submitted back to CMP headquarters for official scoring by staff members.

Final postal scores will be available for viewing through the CMP’s Competition Tracker system.

The top juniors of the 2017/18 CMP 3P Air Rifle Postal Championship will qualify to participate in one of three CMP Regional Championships in April 2018. This year these Regional Chami]pionships will be held at Camp Perry, Ohio; Anniston, Ala.; and Sandy, Utah.

The National Championship will follow at CMP’s Gary Anderson CMP Competition Center at Camp Perry in June2018.
