This one-of-a-kind model is said by AoA to be in close to new condition.
Like many people, I’ve heard about Whiscombe air rifles, but never actually seen or held one – let alone shot it!
Individually hand-made by John Whiscombe in the UK, it must date from before 2009, as that was the date of their creator’s death.
Whiscome air rifles are spring/piston-powered. However they use an ingenious twin opposing piston mechanism to provide high power with no recoil. The Whiscombe JW80 air rifle designation indicated that this gun has an 80 mm piston stroke.
At $3,899.00, this is not exactly a bargain basement airgun deal. But it’s a fair price for such an ultra-rare collectible that really is a “once-in-a-lifetime” purchase.
