2018 Daisy Nationals Begin This Weekend

Daisy Outdoor Products has announced that this year’s Daisy National BB Gun Championship Match – the 2018 Daisy Nationals – will begin this weekend, June 30-July 3 in Rogers, Ark.

The 2018 Daisy Nationals brings together youth teams ages 8-15 for the 5-Meter National Championship, shooting in four positions (standing, kneeling, sitting and prone) and championships are awarded to teams and individuals.

Teams competing in the 2018 Daisy Nationals have qualified in the top three spots at its state NRA-sanctioned match. At the 2018 Daisy Nationals, in addition to marksmanship scores, each competitor will complete a written test that covers gun safety and knowledge of the shooting event, and each competitor’s score on the safety test makes up 25 percent of his or her final score.

Teams in the 2018 Daisy Nationals consist of seven members (five competitors and two alternates) and use a muzzle-loaded, single-shot Champion Model 499B BB gun.

The Model 499B is claimed to be the most accurate 5-meter competition BB gun in the world. Teams often come from the 4-H Shooting Sports program, but any community, youth or religious organization can create a team too. The Royal Rangers sends multiple teams to the championship each year.

Daisy will present a minimum of $700 on a prepaid credit card to every BB gun team that qualifies for, attends and competes at the 2018 Daisy Nationals. This money can be used for travel costs and equipment and will enable some teams to attend and compete who otherwise could not.

Daisy is looking forward to enjoying a fun event filled with frills, thrills and of course friendly competition. In addition to the competition, Daisy throws plenty of extras into the mix, like Barter Bar night and the T-Shirt and Painted Gun contests.
