7MM WOLFIEK – A New Airgun Caliber Is Launched!
7MM WOLFIEK. This may be the first time you have heard this new airgun caliber. However I’m sure that it will not be the last!
Booth 648 in Hall 1 at the 2025 IWA OutdoorClassics show was the place to discover all about this new airgun caliber. And who better to tell us about it than Francisco Wolfiek himself. That’s Francisco in our heading photograph above.
Let’s find out more…
Many Hard Air Magazine readers will already know about Wolfiek Group. Based in the heart of beautiful, historic Barcelona, Spain – one of my favorite cities in the world, with incredible food! – the company sells a range selected airgun products, not only in Spain, but throughout Europe and around the world.
As with many major players in the airgun industry, Francisco is an enthusiastic airgunner. And he can really shoot, too! Below we see him receiving his prize as winner of the 50 Yard Unlimited Class at Extreme Benchrest, 2019.
Now starting and running a successful airgun dealership is – in itself – a major endeavor. But not content with that, Francisco has embarked on the gigantic new enterprise of developing a compete, new airgun caliber from the ground up.
That’s 7MM WOLFIEK!
Well, yes, these are – of course – oversize display samples indicating the range of pellet and slug ammo that could be included in the 7MM WOLFIEK range. But the meaning is clear. This new caliber is intended to be new, different and revolutionary!
But why 7mm?
Francisco explained that his idea is to create a game-changing innovation in airgunning. He is pioneering a new standard for airgun shooters that is between the existing .25 (6.35 mm) and .30 (7.62 mm) calibers. The intention is to combine power with precision.
So Francisco’s aim is to create airgun ammunition tailor-made for accurate long-range shooting and with superior Ballistic Coefficients. With top-tier PCP air rifles, of course!
To do this, Wolfiek Group is partnering with a number of top airgun ammo manufacturers. He’s also working with barrel manufacturers, matching together barrel and ammunition designs.
Initially Francisco is aiming to produce 7MM WOLFIEK conversion kits for a selection of popular airguns. But wait, there’s more…
As that was not enough, development is under way for a dedicated, ground-up, new Wolfiek PCP air rifle!
Francisco explained to me that the first Wolfiek air rifle – note that he’s obviously thinking already that there will be more in future – will be a reliable, modular design that’s ready for hunting, Benchrest and PRS shooting. It’s being developed incorporating not only his own experience, but that of other leading airgun shooters from around the world.
WOW! Adding all of this together is a HUGE project for the Wolfiek Group!!!
You can read more about the 7MM WOLFIEK project on the company website. I hope that Hard Air Magazine will be able to bring you more detail on this exciting new airgun project as it happens. Watch this space…
