Air Arms Kymira 40th Anniversary PCP Air Rifle
The Air Arms Kymira is the company’s celebration 40th anniversary PCP air rifle that’s available to special order in the USA from Pyramyd Air.
Along with the new Ultimate Springers and XTi-50FT models, the British company is certainly on a roll this month with new “high bling” product introductions!
Befitting an “anniversary model”, the Kymira will be manufactured in a limited run of 400 rifles. It also combines features from a variety of Air Arms PCPs that have been manufactured over the years.
In the USA, the Air Arms Kymira will be available in .22 caliber, “high power” configuration. That translates to a shot count of 35 per fill with a Muzzle Energy of up to 30 Ft/Lbs.
Air Arms explains that the receiver is panelled and styled along the lines of the Series 100 model.
The handle of the loading bolt is inspired by the Shamal. This will further enhance the ambidextrous features of the rifle and increase appeal. Made from titanium, the Kymira’s bolt handle is both hi-tech and retro, says the company.
The valving mechanism is adopted from the latest high-performance S510 R and XS range. It is fully-regulated, of course.
The magazine system is taken from the S410, with the added distinction of having a black pellet carrier with a clear lens, as used on classic Air Arms S310 magazines.
The barrel clamp is wider than current production versions. It’s inspired by the S300 model, and acknowledges the Shamal which had a barrel spacer similar in width.
The air-storage reservoir is formed from titanium, as used on the latest XTI-50 Field Target competition rifle.
The action end cap is styled on the lines of the TX cylinder front section.
The moderator is built around Q-Tech internals, Air Arms explains.
The special edition ambidextrous stock is a combination of the S636 (S410 standard) and Superlite stock designs. Manufactured from a multi-toned laminate, it’s designed to perfectly compliments the titanium and black anodizing used throughout the rifle. The ‘undercut’ sanding has been removed and a multi-adjustable cheek-piece, 3-axis butt pad added.
The rifle will be supplied in a high-quality Negrini case with a bespoke foam insert, plus two magazines, a 40th anniversary “goodie pack” and limited lifetime warranty.
The price is $2,399.99.
