But Wait, There’s More! KalibrGun Argus 45W Update

There’s been a ton of interest in last week’s HAM post about the new KalibrGun Argus 45W PCP air rifle. So now is a good time to add some further updates to this story.

Thanks to KalibrGun for the additional information…

Several of the photographs in our previous post showed a pre-production Argus at the 2020 SHOT Show. As is the case with ALL pre-production models of ANY new product, there’s a few changes between the pre-production Argus we saw at the SHOT Show and the current-production models that are currently shipping. That’s completely normal and expected.

The main external difference is the shape of the cocking handle. KalibrGun tells HAM that the basic sidelever mechanism is unchanged from the SHOT Show gun. However the sidelever itself has been redesigned for improved ergonomics.

You can see the difference in the photographs below. First we see the production cocking lever…

… and below was the (replaced) SHOT Show version.

KalibrGun has also made some changes to the magazine…

This new magazine has been designed to enable easier pellet loading. It also incorporates KalibrGun’s innovative safety system into the magazine.

KalibrGun Argus 45W Update
With the lever set to the “up” position, this magazine operates as you would expect. The internal spring rotates the rotor after each shot so that pellets are fired in multi-shot mode.

When the magazine lever is set to “down”, the automatic rotation of the magazine is disabled.

So – if you have already chambered a pellet in the barrel and want to de-cock the airgun while keeping the pellet in the barrel – you don’t have to remove the magazine.  When the lever is set to “down”, you can do so without causing a double-feed when the Argus is re-cocked.

In addition, KalibrGun has released a short video describing the high points of the Argus 45W. Enjoy!
