Extreme Benchrest 2015 – Day 3
With so much shooting to be done at Extreme Benchrest 2015, organization is critical. So, every competitor is issued with “dogtags”, giving them a reminder of the competitions they have entered and how they are squadded.
First up on Day Three of Extreme Benchrest 2015 was the 25 Metre benchrest competition.
Among the well-known names competing at Extreme Benchrest 2015 were Tim McMurray from Mac 1 Airgun (above) and Jim Chapman, the well-known airgun hunter. Jim bravely accepted the challenge to shoot this discipline with an HW97 spring/piston air rifle that he’d never even had chance to shoot before! Yes, that’s Jim in the blue shirt below.
Also shooting was the young airgun sensation Abdul Lababedy. Just 11 years old, Abdul is already a champion competitor in benchrest shoots on the US – and even World – stage. He’s too short to sit and so has developed his own unique standing style to shoot. Look out for Abdul to be among the winners at Extreme Benchrest 2015!
After the shooting stops, the targets are all marked, the CTC measurements calculated and the results posted on “The Wall” for all to see. Competitors can take home their own targets after the event has finished.
Extreme Benchrest 2015 also offered a chance for a 10 M pistol shoot. This took place on the fine, indoor air-conditioned facility at the Rio Salado Shooting Range.
Extreme Benchrest 2015 is being held at the Rio Salado Sportsman’s Club in Mesa AZ. This is a prestige location – the club has a membership of over 6,600 – yes, that’s SIX THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED – people with many being airgun shooters. The club has many dedicated airgun facilities and is adding a new, larger indoor pistol and benchrest indoor range. Impressive!
