The Gamo Urban, a New Entry Level PCP Air Rifle

Although the Gamo Urban PCP air rifle began to appear in US stores right at the end of 2017, the forthcoming SHOT Show will be the first for this model.

The manufacturer tells us that the Gamo Urban PCP is accurate, affordable and built tough to last generations. With an MSRP of $399, it qualifies as an entry level PCP air rifle.

The Gamo Urban is a precharged pneumatic (PCP), bolt-action repeater that is capable of providing up to 30 shots per fill. A quick fill probe filling system is used for filling the Urban with high pressure air. There’s a built-in pressure gauge for checking air pressure in the gun.

The Urban incorporates a hammer forged rifled steel barrel and incorporates Gamo’s patent pending CAT (Custom Action Trigger), a two-stage adjustable trigger that provides a crisp, clean and smooth trigger pull for improved accuracy.

The integrated Whisper Maxxim Silencer decreases the decibel level during firing. Muzzle velocity is claimed to be up to 800 FPS with .22 caliber pellets, produced by a fill pressure of up to a maximum of 3,365 PSI (232 Bar).

Gamo says that users will enjoy the removable 10-round rotary magazine while cycling pellets through this bolt-action rifle. Gamo also added their Shock Wave Absorber butpad that reduces recoil by over 50 percent,  providing a positive shooting experience, the company says.

The Gamo Urban PCP air rifle also features an 11mm dovetail groove that accepts most scope rings. Scope and mounts are not supplied with the Urban, allowing shooters to make their own personal choice of optics.
