Hatsan Harpoon Arrow Rifle Announced
The Hatsan Harpoon is the Turkish airgun maker’s first dedicated arrow-firing PCP air rifle. It was first shown at the 2020 SHOT Show.
Designed specifically for use with commercial 20-Inch crossbow bolts, Hatsan claims the Harpoon can achieve a Muzzle Velocity of 600 FPS with 325 Ft/Lbs of energy. However, Pyramyd Air and Airgun Depot websites are showing slightly lower numbers at 580 FPS/ 310 Ft/Lbs.
The manufacturer says that a 2219 size aluminum or carbon fiber arrow with a 0.30-Inch inner diameter can be slid over the hollow guide rod that that serves as the gun’s barrel. Both field tips and broadheads can be used.
Each 3625 psi (250 BAR) fill of the fixed 500cc Aluminum air tank produces 10 high-powered shots, Hatsan explains. As the Harpoon – like other recent arrow-firing airguns – is not regulated, these 10 shots will not be consistent, but are within 85% of the peak velocity.
A long combination optics rail provides plenty of space for mounting the included flip-up TruGlo fiber optic sights or a crossbow scope. This rail will accommodate both 11mm dovetail and Picatinny/Weaver mounts.
In addition, the barrel cover features two mounted arrow holders that allow storage for extra ammo with no added bulk.
