Hatsan PileDriver – Most Powerful Production Big Bore PCP Launched
The Hatsan PileDriver is claimed to be the most powerful production PCP rifle. HAM readers first saw it in our report from the 2020 SHOT Show.
Capable of producing over 800 Ft/Lbs of energy in .50 cal, it is also available in a 700+ Ft/Lbs .45 caliber model. It was designed exclusively for high-powered hunting applications.
Although this rifle utilizes a 33-inch barrel, its bullpup design keeps the maximum length to 46.5 Inches. There’s a side lever cocking mechanism and a fixed 480cc carbon fiber HPA bottle. When filled to 4350 PSI it will – says the manufacturer – provide up to 6 high-powered shots on a single fill.
The PileDriver’s unique, patented hammer design eliminates a traditional steel coil hammer spring in favor of a smoother, easier-to-cock, gas piston mechanism. This top-loading single-shot rifle also features an extra-large loading port that will accommodate ammo up to 34mm in length.
Hatsan says that the absence of a shroud allows for the use of sabot rounds, in addition to other ammo choices. The action is unregulated for maximum power.
