JSB KnockOut .25 Caliber Slugs Are Now Shipping
Yes, they’re here! JSB KnockOut .25 caliber slugs are now available and shipping from Pyramyd Air and Airgun Depot.
These .251 caliber slugs were announced at the 2020 SHOT Show. HAM readers first learned about them in our show report.
Back in those balmy, (just) pre-Coronavirus days, it was hoped that they would be available in May 2020. Well, it’s taken a little longer, but no-one can complain.
Given the world-wide pandemic and the huge demand for all types of airgun ammunition, the HAM Team feels that JSB has done exceedingly well to introduce these KnockOut .25 caliber slugs at all this year!
These twenty-five cal. slugs actually have a head diameter of 6.37 mm – that’s .251 Inch. The weight is 33.49 Grains. As you would expect, that’s nearly one third heavier than the .22 caliber JSB slugs that have been available for some months.
These new KnockOut .25 caliber slugs are of a similar hollowpoint design to the .22s. They also have a higher Ballistic Coefficient of 0.092.
Obviously designed primarily for long-range hunting, these 7.70 mm long slugs retain their energy much better downrange that traditional pellets.
For example, JSB Exact King Heavy MkII pellets have a similar 33.95 Grain weight. But their Ballistic Coefficient is 0.046.
What does that mean in practice? If both the King Heavies and Knock Outs were fired from the same gun at 900 FPS Muzzle velocity, the slugs will be traveling about 60 FPS faster out at 50 Yards with a kinetic energy that’s close to 20% more at that range.
So, slugs hit harder further downrange. If you have a powerful PCP air rifle and its barrel shoots accurately with slugs, these slugs can be a great asset to the hunter!
Packed in 150 count tins, you’ll find JSB KnockOut .25 caliber slugs in stock at Pyramyd Air and Airgun Depot. But you’ll have to hurry. They’re selling fast…
