Legends M3 CO2 Grease Gun Now Shipping
The Legends M3 CO2 Grease Gun is now shipping. It’s available from Pyramyd Air, among other online retailers.
In fact, this CO2-powered, BB-firing Grease Gun is a is based on the M3A1 variation used from 1944 and beyond. As with other models in the Legends range from Umarex, it’s incredibly realistic and will certainly make many WW2 aficionados very happy.
If you already have a HAM Gold Award-winning Legends M1A1 Thompson BB gun, you just have to get the Grease Gun too to make the pair!
As with the other Legends World War Two sub machine gun replicas – the Thompson and the MP40 – the M3 CO2 Grease Gun has a selective-fire, blowback action. The combined safety and “fun switch” can be found, inconspicuously-placed, on the underside of the gun, just ahead of the trigger.
The gun can be fired in either semi-auto and fully-automatic modes., simply by sliding this switch.
Umarex says that the rate-of-fire is 1,050 BBs per minute. This is somewhere above double the rate of the original firearm, which was 450 rpm. However the gun does fire from an open bolt just like the original powder-burner.
It’s also cocked by opening a cover and pulling back directly on a cutaway in the bolt using a thumb or finger. Again, just like the original!
This CO2-powered Grease Gun has a drop-free magazine that contains the two 12 Gram CO2 cartridges. It also holds a maximum of 60 BBs, loaded “double stacked” as in our photograph below.
As you would expect, there’s a collapsible wire shoulder stock. Again, it’s a dead ringer for the original firearm version and works in the same way!
Umarex advises that owners should expect to shoot approximately 120 BBs (that’s the contents of two magazines) for each full CO2 charge.
Although it’s taken some time to appear, there’s little doubt that the Legends M3 CO2 Grease Gun will have been worth the wait. HAM will be testing this one in the very near future. Stay tuned!
