Let’s Look At The Utah Airguns Retail Store
I’m here in beautiful Utah for the 2019 Rocky Mountain Airgun Challenge. But before the action starts tomorrow, there was time to look around the Utah Airguns retail store. Most of us are familiar with the Utah Airguns online store, but the retail store is still a great treat for any airgunner.
Orem, Utah is about 40 miles south of Salt Lake City. It’s surrounded by the most beautiful mountains that – even now – have snow at higher elevations. There’s no doubt that you’ve arrived at the right place! Just look at the huge sign and the Utah Airguns van outside 🙂
Then inside, we meet Justin Jacobsen, the owner of Utah Airguns. He’s meeting and greeting all the visitors to the Rocky Mountain Airgun Challenge. The Utah Airguns retail store is RMAC headquarters!
Justin tells me that the Utah Airguns retail store has 12,000 square feet of space. That makes it by far the largest retail space focused solely airguns in the USA – and possibly the world!
Looking around, it’s clear that it’s all been put to good use. Pretty well every type of airgun shooting is represented – from Big Bore to BB guns.
Justin also said that more and more local residents are coming into the store to find out what airguns are about. They try one out on the store’s indoor range, get interested, buy and then get into upgrades. That’s great business and great fun for all the new airgunners in Utah!
As you would expect, there’s a large number of FX air rifles in displays all around the store. These include a great selection behind the main counter.
The overall effect is sharp and inviting. Much of the store has a double height ceiling, which makes it feel open and bright.
As you can see in the photos above, there’s plenty of pellets in stock from JSB, H&N and other manufacturers. There’s also many chronographs, scopes, targets and everything else that you could wish for.
You want HPA tanks? Check out this display!
Of course, not everything is geared to the high end shopper. There’s a good variety of less expensive airguns, including PCPs and BB guns.
Much space is allocated to an excellent, desert-themed indoor airgun range. There’s plenty of plinking targets and opportunities to try out a new air rifle or sight it in.
There’s even a corner section devoted to airsoft guns…
There’s no doubt. It’s a very impressive operation and well worth a visit if you’re anywhere near Salt Lake City!
Tomorrow the 2019 Rocky Mountain Airgun Challenge begins. HAM will bring you all the news as it happens. Keep watching this space…
