New Air Venturi Avenge-X Stars At 2023 SHOT Show
The Air Venturi Avenge-X was the most outstanding new air rifle that I saw at the 2023 SHOT Show today. It’s a modular, regulated PCP airgun that will be available very soon in no less than TWENTY-FOUR different versions. And that’s just for starters!
First, let’s do the easy part. The Avenge-X is to be available in three calibers. No surprises here, they’re .177 cal, .22 and .25.
But those three calibers are multiplied by no less than EIGHT different options of stock, HPA supply and action configurations.
And the price is going to be VERY attractive!
That’s Air Venturi Marketing Manager Emily Phillipi showsing us the Avenge-X in tactical stock configuration with carbon HPA bottle in our heading photograph above.
Emily told me that the Avenge-X will deliver power levels of up to 50 Ft/Lbs in .22 caliber and 60 Ft/Lbs in .25. Following the example of the Air Venturi Avenger, the Avenge-X will have extensive tuning capabilities, courtesy of adjustable hammer spring tension, regulator pressure and transfer port adjustment.
Below, Emily shows the Air Venturi Avenge-X in bullpup version with wood stock and regular air tube. Thanks Emily!
Caliber changes will be easy to achieve by a simple barrel and bolt swap. The cocking lever is also easily changeable from right- to left-handed operation.
Fill pressure is 4,350 PSI (300 Bar) and both the 210 cc steel HPA tube and the 390cc carbon bottle are both filled using a standard quick disconnect fitting. In addition, all pressure gauges are located in the side or base of the gun. There’s no need to “look down the barrel” to check air pressure, as there is with many end-mounted pressure gauges. Thank you Air Venturi!
Of course there’s a side lever action, multi-shot magazine capability – with a choice of single-shot tray – and a shrouded barrel. Just a few years ago these alone would have been headline-making features for a new PCP: now they’re taken for granted…
Air Venturi is positioning the Avenge-X as “one rifle that adapts to all of your shooting needs”. It’s clear that this will be the case for a huge number of PCP air rifle owners!
So where’s all of these eight different base configurations coming from? I’ll try to list them below:
- Traditional, full-length stock with 210 cc HPA air tube. Synthetic stock.
- Traditional, full-length stock with 210 cc HPA air tube. Wood stock.
- Long stock with 390 cc HPA air bottle. Synthetic stock.
- Long stock with 390 cc HPA air bottle. Wood stock.
- Tactical style stock with 210 cc HPA air tank.
- Tactical style with 390 cc HPA bottle.
- Bullpup, wood stock.
- Semi-bullpup with wood stock.
Phew! I think I’ve got that right…
Now you didn’t hear this from me and this is purely personal speculation. But Pyramyd Air already offers a Customization Service for the Air Venturi Avenger. Hmmm. Wouldn’t the Air Venturi Avenge-X be an ideal product for such a service sometime in the future…
