New Aztec Emerald 5.5 – 25 x 50 Scope Available Now
A new name in the airgun optics arena is Aztec Optics. Their first product is the Aztec Emerald 5.5 – 25 x 50 scope.
This new scope offers the very wide zoom range from 5.5 to 25 X with a 50mm objective lens and 30mm tube diameter. This covers just about all of the possible magnification requirements for the vast majority of airgunners.
The Aztec Emerald 5.5 – 25 x 50 scope has side parallax adjustment for focusing down to 10 yards. The included “big wheel” is, of course, what is required by every Field Target shooter.
The turrets are click-adjustable at 1/4 MOA and the reticle is said by the manufacturer to have been specifically designed for airgun use. The graduations and overall design of the DYND-1 reticle in the Aztec Emerald 5.5 – 25 x 50 Scope certainly make it clear that this is the case.
The Field of View is said to vary between 19.1 and 4.2 Yards at 100 Feet (33.3 Yards, a very typical airgun scope sighting distance). Of course, this will be dependent on magnification, with the widest Field of View at the lowest – 5.5 X magnification.
Eye relief is competitive, too, at between 3.94 and 3.54 Inches. Again, this will vary in the Aztec Emerald 5.5 – 25 x 50 scope – as with any other scope – depending on the magnification selected, with the shorter eye relief at the highest magnification setting.
This is a fairly large scope at 14.375-inches long and 25.4 Ounces. But it looks as if it will balance well on the majority of PCP air rifles, for which it was undoubtedly designed.
The new Aztec Emerald 5.5 – 25 x 50 Scope is available in the USA at Airguns of Arizona. In Europe, contact www.xabla.co.uk
