New Benjamin Traveler Portable Compressor
The new Benjamin Traveler portable compressor is now available from major dealers including Pyramyd Air and Airgun Depot.
It’s the latest in a family of Traveler portable HPA compressors that HAM readers first read about back in 2018. Now the latest model is more compact as it includes an internal power converter. It’s also lighter.
Another improvement is the incorporation of a digital pressure gauge – replacing the previous analog version – together with upgraded performance. This is used both to set the desired fill pressure and monitor the actual pressure being generated at any time.
As you would expect, an included benefit is the auto-stop feature that allows the user to set a pressure and have the unit stop when the pressure is reached.
With an all-up weight of 19.6 Lbs and a top carrying handle, the Benjamin Traveler portable compressor is – well – pretty portable. Like previous Traveler models, it can accept input from a domestic 110 Volt AC power, as well as being able to accept 12 Volt DC supply from a truck, all-terrain vehicle or even riding lawn mower.
The Benjamin Traveler portable compressor comes with a high pressure hose with a cotton filter. It also includes safety features such as low voltage protection to ensure continued trouble-free use.
Like most similar small compressors, the Traveler is designed to fill airguns directly, with a maximum bottle size of 600 cc. Benjamin says that – for example – it will fill a Marauder from empty to 3,000 PSI in around 5 minutes. It’s not intended to charge large HPA tanks.
As shown in the photograph, the Traveler includes a high pressure hose with “Foster-type”, 1/8-Inch NPT female connectors. This should make it compatible with the majority of PCP air rifles without an adapter.
The Street Price is $699.99.
