New Field Target Course Opens Near Buffalo NY at the Ripley Rod and Gun Club

A new Field Target course has opened at the Ripley Rod and Gun Club, 9820 Rod and Gun Cub Road Ripley NY 14775. There’s a maximum of 11 firing points available.

The first Air Rifle Field Target Match at the new course will take place on Saturday 12 August 2017.

This inaugural shoot is limited to 50 shooters. There’s a pre-registration sign-up period that ends on 5 August 2017.
The cost for pre-registered shooters is $20.00 per person; walk-ons are $30.00 per person. Water and chili is included.

To pre-register, contact Bob McIntosh 814 440 9406, or Phil Chimera 716 969 8344. You just need to tell them you’ll be shooting and can pay on the day.

The practice range will be open at 08:00 AM at this new Field Target course. It will close prior to the match commencing.
There’s a competitor meeting at 08:45 AM and the match will start at at 09:00 AM.

AAFTA Rules will be used for this 10-11 firing point competition. That means a total of 20 – 22 targets set in a mixture of open and woods settings in this new Field Target course. Each shooter will have 5 minutes per lane to complete their shots.

Open, WFTF and Hunter classes will be supported .177 cal and .22 caliber piston and PCP rifles are accepted for the match with a 20 Ft/Lbs maximum Muzzle Energy.

Winners will be presented with trophies presented after the match.

The organizers advise that rustic camping is available on site during the event (on Friday and Saturday). Alternatively, accommodation can be found at the Holiday Inn Express hotels off the I-90 North East PA and I-86 in Findlay Lake N.Y.

Coffee, soft drinks, hamburgs, hot dogs, and snacks will be available on site.

There will be a Shoebox compressor available for use at the new Field Target course. But shooters are advised to bring their own air, NO spare air tanks will be available on site.
