New Glock G17 Gen 5 Pellet Pistol

The Glock 19 Gen 3 was the most popular HAM air pistol review of 2019. Now, Umarex is capitalizing on this success by announcing a new Glock G17 Gen 5 pellet pistol. It will be at the 2020 SHOT Show next week. Glock fans will be delighted!

The Glock 17 Gen 5 carried a set of new features for its generation. These include a grip that lets your fingers wrap naturally without being forced into grooves and a flared mag well that is subtle yet effective for quick reloads. These features carry into the newly introduced officially licensed airgun version from Umarex.

However, the biggest news is that the new Glock G17 Gen 5 pellet pistol deviates from previous Glock airguns by firing .177 caliber pellets instead of BBs.

Umarex explains that the pellets are driven by CO2 from a full size metal magazine with a 20-round belt inside. There’s also a rifled barrel which the company explains is optimally rifled for Meisterkugeln pistol pellets.

Otherwise the winning Glock air pistol format continues with metal slide, polymer frame and outstanding detailing. This model has blowback action.

Although the Glock 19X is already available for retail sale, Umarex will also be showing it at the SHOT Show for the first time in 2020. This model is a blowback-operated, BB-firing pistol that’s available in the “coyote” color scheme.
