New Hatsan Mod 65 Breakbarrel Air Rifle

The Hatsan Mod 65 breakbarrel air rifle utilizes a range of the most-successful features from the company’s break barrel lineup to create a new model.

Lead pellet velocity specs are up to 1100 FPS in .177 caliber, 800 FPS (.22), or 700 FPS in .25 cal. The corresponding muzzle energies are up to 18 Ft/Lbs in.177, 20 Ft/Lbs in .22 cal, or 23 Ft/Lbs in .25 caliber.

The Mod 65 is the only current Hatsan breakbarrel air rifle with a wood pistol grip stock – Turkish walnut, of course. The aggressive engraved texturing on the pistol grip and forearm provides a positive gripping surface for more control, the company explains.

Additionally, the Mod 65 stock has a ventilated rubber butt pad and a black synthetic adjustable Monte Carlo-style cheek rest.

The 14.5-inch rifled steel barrel is shrouded in polymer and capped with a permanently integrated sound moderator. This system is known as QuietEnergy (QE) technology and is very effective at reducing the report of the air rifle, Hatsan explains.

Both open sights and a scope are included with the Hatsan Mod 65 breakbarrel air rifle.

The micro-adjustable rear sight is a square notch with green fiber optic that is adjustable for windage and elevation. The front of the barrel incorporates a fixed red fiber optic sight.

There’s also a 3-9x32mm Optima scope and rings included in the package.

Other features of the Mod 65 include a two-stage Quattro trigger. This has a metal trigger blade and is adjustable for length of pull and pull weight.

There’s also an automatic safety that engages upon breaking open the barrel and prevents the safety from being taken off while the barrel is open. This anti-bear trap feature prevents damage to the rifle and the shooter should the trigger be accidentally pulled while loading.

Hatsan’s SAS – Shock Absorber System – is included. This is claimed to increase accuracy potential by reducing the vibration inherent in a spring-powered airgun.

The MSRP is $219.99.
