New RAW MicroHunter To Launch At 2023 SHOT Show
Rapid Air Works has announced a new RAW MicroHunter PCP air rifle to be launched next week at the 2023 SHOT Show.
Unusually, the Press Release does not include a photograph of this new model. However, the Rapid Air Works website shows an unidentified, compact model in one of the “image slider” panels at the top of the page. That’s it in our screen shot above. So the question is: “Is that it?”
Here’s the story…
Rapid Air Worx (R.A.W.) is bringing a new chassis rifle to market in 2023. Designed as a subcompact small game hunting rifle, the RAW MicroHunter is only 27 Inches in length and weighs in at only 5.6 Pounds.
The new rifle will be available in .177, .22 and .25 caliber. Despite its diminutive size it will be capable of over 25 Ft/Lbs of Muzzle Energy.
The new BarkStripper adjustable air stripper reduces accuracy robbing air turbulence and reduces muzzle report, the company says. It also ships with ½-20 and ¾-16 muzzle threads and protector to accommodate additional sound reduction devices where available and legal.
The new rifle comes with R.A.W.’s adjustable match trigger and a lightweight chassis that accommodates any aftermarket AR-15 stock or pistol grip. The R.A.W. chassis system is available as a complete rifle or a stand-alone chassis that owners of existing R.A.W. rifles can drop their barreled action into.
Versions of the chassis system compatible with R.A.W. TM1000, TM1000x, HM1000, HM1000 MicroHunter and HM1000x receiver allow this system to take any R.A.W. rifle to the next level of modularity and customizability. It also features generous M-Lok mounting points allowing end-users to add a multitude of off the shelf M-Lok compatible accessories to their rifle.
The MicroHunter will also ship with a stock featuring true ambidexterity with an adjustable cheek rest that can be set up for both left and right-handed shooters. This is a fixed/adjustable design that creates a rock-solid stock that eliminates movement and noise, the company says. There’s also a spring-loaded butt pad extends 1.25 Inches with the touch of a button and is adjustable in .45-Inch increments with four positions.
We’ll all find out next week. Watch out for HAM’s SHOT Show reports…
