New Springfield Armory M1 Carbine BB Gun Now Shipping
Air Venturi has announced that the new Springfield Armory M1 Carbine BB Gun is now shipping. HAM readers first saw this new model in our 2019 SHOT Show report: now it’s here!
Available exclusively through Air Venturi and its authorized retailers, the M1 Carbine BB Gun is a faithful BB-firing replica of the well-known military firearm.
It’s a semi-automatic carbine that features a realistic blowback action. Every time the trigger is pulled, the rifle discharges the BB in the chamber, the bolt slides back and the next round is seated in the breech, ready to go – just like the original.
This CO2-powered, BB-firing replica is powered by one 12 Gram CO2 cartridge. Air Venturi says that the Springfield Armory M1 Carbine BB Gun achieves about 40 good shots from a full one.
There’s a full-metal, 15-round drop-free magazine, which also houses the CO2 power plant. It incorporates a metal upper receiver in a synthetic, wood-look stock.
Continuing the realistic replica specification is a two-stage trigger and windage-adjustable rear sight.
Air Venturi has announced that a genuine wood-stock upgrade will be available in the near future. Spare magazines are also already available.
Weight is very similar to the .30-caliber version at just over 5 and a half pounds. The length of 36 Inches is also right in line with the original.
The claimed Muzzle Velocity is up to 425 feet per second using steel BBs. Of course, this will vary with temperature, elevation and rate of fire, just like other CO2-powered airguns.
As with other replicas, Muzzle Velocity is not the key driver behind the Springfield Armory M1 Carbine BB Gun. Realistic appearance and operation are the important features. It certainly looks like this gun delivers on that basis!
