IWA Show 2016 Airguns Less Known in the US

As I mentioned in the first post on IWA Show 2016 airguns, there is a surprising number – at least to me – of airgun brands that are either not available in the US, or are rather less well known by most members of the airgun-buying public.

Today’s photo review of IWA Show 2016 airguns gives a flavor for some of the rarer species which are out there.

Our heading photograph, above shows the latest version of the KalibrGun Cricket. (At least I’m reliably informed that there’s an airgun in the photo somewhere!). KalibrGuns are designed and manufactured in the Czech Republic.

Although KalibrGun’s Cricket and Colibri models have been available in the US for some time, they’re still not so well known outside the airgun enthusiast fraternity and so justify inclusion in today’s report. Below we see the Cricket Compact. It’s available in both .177 and .22 calibers.

Still new in the US market are Ataman PCP airguns. These are manufactured in Russia. HAM provided much coverage of Ataman air rifles in our SHOT Show report a few weeks ago, so we’re not repeating that today. But the Ataman did show a very interesting cutaway version of their basic PCP action design in their IWA Show 2016 airguns display.

More IWA Show 2016 airguns were being shown by the Italian company Morini Competition Arms. These are some beautiful examples of their CM162 target pistol range.

Also available in the US, but not well known outside the enthusiast community are the innovative products from Edgun – a Russian company.

Below we see the first example – serial number 0001 – of the new Edgun Leshiy air pistol. This is designed for the backpacker and hunter. The stock folds, effectively cutting the length of the gun from 25-inches down to 14-inches for portability. The Leshiy will be available in .177, .20 cal, .22 and .25 caliber.

Below is the Edgun Lelya 2.0. This PCP air rifle is available in .177 and .25 calibers and has an eye-catching style that’s different from just about every other bullpup out there.

Kral Arms are based in Konya, Turkey. They offer a range of air rifles. Some are break barrel spring/piston and gas ram types, while more interesting – to me! – are their PCP models. These bullpup models are available in .177, .22 and .25 calibers in a variety of configurations, as you can see in these two photographs.

Kral also has a wide range of full-length PCP air rifles. There are side lever and bolt actions, different stock (obviously) and – less obviously – different air tank capacities.

Cometa air rifles are imported into the USA by Air Force International. Here are the new introductions for 2016, including the unusually-styled Comets Orion BP bullpups with fold down forward hand grips. Calibers of .177, .22 cal and .25 are available for the Orion range.

Not imported into the USA are the large range of precision target air rifles produced by TESRO GmbH of Germany. These are beautiful looking guns!
