IWA Show 2016 Report Two
For HAM’s second report from the IWA Show 2016, we’re concentrating on FX and Weihrauch.
Both of these booths were packed with interested visitors for much of Saturday – a testimony to how much interest there is in these two outstanding – yet completely different air rifle product lines.
My guide for everything FX at the IWA Show 2016 was Johan Axelsson. Yes, that’s right, he’s FX President and founder Fredrik Axelsson’s son. Our heading photograph, above, shown Johan holding the new FX Streamline model that he has been responsible for developing.
Johan described that the FX Streamline is a model so new that it wasn’t even included in the latest FX catalog that was produced specially for the show! Unusually for FX, it features a simple, but good-looking wood stock with – as Johan outlined – a harmonious amalgamation of features that you will find from other FX air rifle models.
One main attraction of the FX Streamline is the price point, which is said to be lower than that of other FX models, although actual pricing in the US Market, for example, will be confirmed by FX specialists, Airguns of Arizona.
Of course, there’s a huge amount of interest in the FX Impact air rifle at the IWA Show 2016. Johan explained that the massive demand for this new air rifle. It was launched just a few months ago and so is still a very new model. Apparently it’s keeping the FX factory very, very busy as they try to satisfy the worldwide demand.
The FX Impact is a bullpup, takedown design that’s available in .177, .22, .25 and .30 calibers. It’s fitted with the FX Smooth Twist barrel in different lengths (longer for the two larger calibers) and is supplied in factory tune at power levels of up to 82 Ft/Lbs for the .30 caliber version.
Of course, FX also were showing their full range of products – as you can see from this general view of the booth.
Among the other highlights on display were differently-stocked versions of the FX Wildcat…
… together with this display of the FX Boss (top) in .30 caliber, with the FX Royale 500 below it in .25 cal and the Royale 400 in .177 caliber.
Then there’s the FX Cyclone and T12 models.
And the Arrow editions of the Indy, Bobcat and Royale 400 were also prominently displayed.
Meanwhile Fredrik Axelsson himself was constantly talking to customers, explaining the benefits of his company’s products.
Not far away from FX Airguns at IWA Show 2016 is the Weihrauch booth. That’s Herr Weihrauch himself in suit walking to the left in the centre of our photograph.
As well as the familiar range of beautiful, classic air rifles the company produces, Weihrauch Sport introduced a couple of new PCP models at the IWA Show 2016. These were the HW100T and the HW110ST, as you can see below.
The Weihrauch HW100ST has a different breech assembly from the preceding HW100 models, including a Weaver/Picatinny rail for scope mounting. There’s also a revised High Pressure Air (HPA) tank configuration.
The HW110ST is to be available in .177, .20 and .22 calibers. Initial production is expected to be at the 12 Ft/Lbs power level which is the legal unregistered maximum level for the UK market.
Below, Jurgen Pfeffer from Weihrauch proudly displays the HW110ST air rifle during the IWA Show 2016.
There’s plenty more to come in future Hard Air Magazine reports from the IWA Show 2016.
