New Sightron SIII PLR Riflescopes – It’s No Longer A Secret!

OK, so new we can reveal more details of the new Sightron SIII PLR riflescopes. The HAM Team has been using the new 10-50×60 version of this range and we’re very impressed!

The “PLR” designation stands for Precision Long-Range scopes. Sightron says that SIII PLR scopes take takes long-range competition and target shooting into the future. The initial model line-up includes three Second Focal Plane models and one First Focal Plane version.

As you can read in the table below, Sightron SIII PLR riflescopes also combine side knob close-focusing with reticle types that make them ideal for high-end PCP air rifle use. They’re going to be a great choice for long range benchrest and competitive target shooting.

Field Target competition would also be a strong suit – if the company adds a new large sidewheel to the range in future. (The existing one does not fit the new models).

– 8-32×56 SFP – minimum focus 20 Yards
– 6-24×50 SFP and FFP – minimum focus 30 Yards
– 10-50×60 SFP – minimum focus 13 Yards
– 6-24×50 FFP – minimum focus 20 Yards

The SIII PLR series has been designed to improve the precision, function, and cosmetics of the already popular SIII Long-Range Series.

There’s new look, with a higher level of precision from the new internal Zero-stop turrets to Sightron’s Zact-7 Revcoat Plus multicoating technology that improves light transmission, color and clarity.

All SIII PLR scopes feature 30mm tubes, a new internal zero-stop mechanism and several illuminated reticle options. All models sport a black satin finish with high visibility markings to quickly identify your scope’s settings.

The large, oversized tactical knobs are easy to adjust in any weather condition and are resettable to zero. That’s what the company says – we’ve also found this to be the case in HAM use to date.

Sightron’s patented ExacTrack Windage and Elevation System is standard on all models. This provides super-precise windage and elevation adjustments while maintaining a positive point-of-contact with the internal erector tube, the company tells HAM.

The new internal zero-stop mechanism provides a tactile and audible positive stop for dead-on zero setting. The windage knob is marked for left and right, so there is no second guessing when making adjustments.

Each new PLR series model offers a choice of either MOA or Mil hash illuminated reticles. These are combined with ¼ MOA or .1 MRAD ultra-precise adjustment turrets as appropriate.

HAM has found the image quality of our test scope to be outstanding. Sightron says this is due to their new Zact-7 Revcoat Plus Enhanced Lens Coating which delivers increased light transmission and improved clarity.

All Sightron SIII PLR riflescopes are nitrogen-charged for a 100% waterproof and fog proof system. They include a 3-Inch sunshade, flip-up lens covers and flip-up lens covers.
