Springfield Armory M1 Carbine Wood Stock Kit Now Available
There’s now a Springfield Armory M1 Carbine wood stock kit available. So, if you purchased your M1 Carbine BB gun with the synthetic stock and now want to up-grade to real “tree wood”, now’s the time to do it.
The kit retails for $79.99 at Pyramyd Air. This is a great price, given that – if you buy a wood-stocked Springfield Armory M1 Carbine – it’s $100 more expensive than the synthetic stock version!
HAM really enjoyed shooting the Springfield Armory M1 Carbine BB gun when we tested it a while back. It’s an excellent reproduction of the classic US military firearm.
This Carbine has a long and strong blowback action. We loved it but it clearly hit the shot count, FPS and shot-to-shot consistency under test. This is not a complaint, simply a reflection of the physics involved and the power capacity of a single 12 Gram CO2 cartridge powerplant.
The M1 carbine is an attractive BB gun which will win many friends for its realistic looks and operation.
In our HAM testing, we reviewed the synthetic stock version. Yes the synthetic stock is a little light and hollow-sounding. However – as with other recent replica long guns – the printed woodgrain pattern is extremely realistic.
Apart from a slight mis-match along the seam along the top and bottom of the buttstock, it’s incredibly difficult to tell that the synthetic stock is not real wood…
Except for the weight and that hollow sound when you tap the synthetic stock, that is!
If that’s a concern, then this M1 Carbine wood stock kit is the obvious, simple and not outrageously expensive way to upgrade to a real tree wood stock for your carbine!
