Thayne Simmons Wins 100 Yard Benchrest At 2023 Pyramyd Air Cup

Big news from the 2023 Pyramyd Air Cup is that Thayne Simmons wins the prestigious 100 Yard Benchrest competition with a score of 232 x8. That was great shooting by Thayne who won against a large field of talented competitors!

Close to 200 shooters had registered for the 2023 Pyramyd Air Cup – or should that now be “Pyramyd Cup” after the company re-branding? Whatever the name, everyone was delighted to meet-up again at the vast Cardinal Center shooting grounds in Marengo, Ohio, after an unintended break of four years.

In second place was William Squillace. He also scored 232, but his x2 placed him just behind Thayne Simmons.

In third position was Nikolai Boldov with 231 x 2.

Fourth was Todd Banks with a score of 230 x 6.

Val Simmons placed fifth with 228 x1.

And John Bagakis was sixth in the 100 yard Benchrest with a score of 226 x 2.

In fact, Pyramyd awarded cash prizes to the top 15 shooters in the 100 Yard Benchrest competition.

For tied placings, Pyramyd generously elected to award both shooters the higher prize money. For example, the shooters who tied for 6th and 7th place both received the prize money for a 6th place finish.
