The First Umarex Glock BB Pistol Is Now Shipping
Back in September 2017, Umarex announced that it had signed an agreement with Glock to produce officially-licensed replicas of Glock centerfire models. Now we have the first results of this agreement. It’s the first Glock BB pistol.
The first Glock BB pistol is an interesting choice. It’s a replica of the Glock 19 Gen 3 model – as indicated on the base of the packaging.
It’s also a low priced, non blowback gun with a stick magazine.
And although the blowback model is most attractive to many people, this non-blowback Glock BB pistol has benefits of its own.
Lower price is one. It’s selling for under $70, which is amazing for a replica of this external quality.
We can also expect much higher shot count and higher FPS from this non-blowback gun. Based on other tests, it may well be that this non-blowback gun gives better accuracy than will future blowback models.
There’s no doubt that this Glock BB pistol is superbly well detailed. It’s an exact match for the Glock 19 Gen 3 firearm in almost every way. The main obvious exception is the inclusion of a crosswise trigger block safety in the trigger which – like all Glocks – already contains a standard blade safety. Duhhh….
One significant difference between this Glock BB pistol and almost all other BB-firing replica pistols is that the usual obtrusive brightly-printed warnings are both muted and printed unobtrusively on the underside of the gun. Most replica BB pistol collectors will be delighted with this!
Overall, this Glock BB pistol is a beautifully-manufactured replica. The quality and realism of the finish is remarkable for a $70 BB gun!
Of course, the slide does not function, nor do any of the other regular Glock controls – except the magazine release and trigger blade safety. But this Glock BB pistol is already a very suitable training gun in every other way for owners of the firearm.
HAM will be running a comprehensive test review of this very interesting new pistol in the near future.
