2020 Pyramyd Air Cup Has been Canceled
Sadly, but unsurprisingly, the 2020 Pyramyd Air Cup has been canceled. This major annual airgun event is another casualty of the Coronavirus pandemic.
Pyramyd Air Marketing Manager Kristen Coss explained: “I’m sure you understand why, and won’t bore you with the details. But for us – at the end of the day – we can’t find a good balance between running an enjoyable, fun competition while keeping competitors and employees safe.”
“And that’s assuming people are feeling comfortable enough to travel and be around groups of people by then,” she continued. “So, we’ve decided to err on the side of caution for this year and cancel.”
“We appreciate all the support competitors and trade partners have shown for the event over these past few years and we apologize if this causes any headaches / travel cancellations,” she added. “We’re hoping 2021 gets us back to normal (in many more ways than just the Cup).”
Hard Air Magazine is disappointed to hear this, but wholeheartedly agrees with Pyramyd Air’s decision to cancel “The Cup” for 2020.
Pyramyd Air has made significant investments in enlarging and upgrading the PA Cup over several years.
In particular, the 2019 Cup was a great step forward. It included 100 Yard Benchrest competition for the first time, in addition to the traditional Field Target and Silhouette shoots. Everyone who attended had a great time!
The new Cardinal Shooting Center venue at Marengo, OH was also a huge improvement, with excellent facilities for shooting, accommodation and entertaining.
Pyramyd Air was definitely on a roll with this event and many people will be disappointed that the 2020 Pyramyd Air Cup has been cancelled.
We’ll see you there in 2021 🙂
